Night time Power Failure

An extensive power failure happened here during the night. Sandy and I set up several candles while we waited for it to come back on. It never, so we went to bed.

I had to dump the ink out of my printer; you are never to turn those off. When the power fails they spit solid ink into a tray.

Stamping Up Card

Stampin' Up

Last Friday night Ruth and I went to a card-making party at Carey's. Here we were each allowed to make two cards. I think there were more than a dozen people there. It was my first Stamping Up party. I am going to display a card here which I made (my first effort)--It is not perfect.
I bought a square punch, a corner punch and ordered 300 glue dots.
It is a very time-consuming process to try to paste anything to blogger. I have thought of posting stuff in the last few weeks but never had the time required. Now it says it may not even publish. So I may have to start over.
Will go without the picture and try to add it later.

65th Birthday

Today Ruth and I went to celebrate at the Dapp Hall.
the afternoon party was for Les Dunford who turned 65 yesterday. We actually saw a few people there we knew but we were the only ones from work--we work in the back, Les works in the front of the office.
However, Al, our ex boss of the newspaper was there to make a speech about Les. They had some good musical talent. One grandson played a quitar and sang "Take me Home Country Roads" . Les' Minister and wife also sang together and individually--the man had a good voice, and she was pretty good, too.
We did not take any pictures.
There was like a full meal and it was running an hr. late by that time so we stayed for that and then we went to work. Just when we thought we were done eating a huge cake appeared and it was powered up with 65 candles. What a blaze! you should see how they lit them! they had something joined on all the outside candles that just took off on fire once they started lighting and pretty soon all the candles were lit.
Blowing them out was a major effort for Les--I bet it was harder than writing a story!

A simple wooden cross graced our Church

Jake to show his new beard

Orchids at church

These flowers were on the table in the lobby.
I liked them and thought they were very nice. We had lilies at the front.

Pictures?

I am hoping to post some pictures but I can't find the ones I want.
I have 2 photo programs and I dont see them in either one; I know they are on the computer!
Went on a great sister retreat last Wed-Friday. Had a great time, did business, and had a great hotel at Westwood Best Western in Edmonton.
Three nights would have been better!
We will try to go again.
