Today Ruth and I went to celebrate at the Dapp Hall.
the afternoon party was for Les Dunford who turned 65 yesterday. We actually saw a few people there we knew but we were the only ones from work--we work in the back, Les works in the front of the office.
However, Al, our ex boss of the newspaper was there to make a speech about Les. They had some good musical talent. One grandson played a quitar and sang "Take me Home Country Roads" . Les' Minister and wife also sang together and individually--the man had a good voice, and she was pretty good, too.
We did not take any pictures.
There was like a full meal and it was running an hr. late by that time so we stayed for that and then we went to work. Just when we thought we were done eating a huge cake appeared and it was powered up with 65 candles. What a blaze! you should see how they lit them! they had something joined on all the outside candles that just took off on fire once they started lighting and pretty soon all the candles were lit.
Blowing them out was a major effort for Les--I bet it was harder than writing a story!
