Texas Long Horn

Here is part of our tree, that is a Long-Horn Texas ornament, came right from my pal Tammy in Texas, thanks Tammy. There is also a cowboy boot.

Beautiful Children Ornament

Children Ornament which Ruth gave me; they have dainty faces and nicely painted. They are fishing.

New Tree Ornament

This is a close up of a red bird ornament, probably a cardinal which Ruth gave me; it was on the gift as decoration.
Sandy hung it on the tree.
The red poinsietta was from a flower arrangement Sandy had given him once; we took it all apart and there are 5 of these to hang on the tree and 2 fancy oblong hanging deocorations and more
Thanks Ruth for the red bird.

Peter got my camera

Here is a Christmas picture of Judy--Peter likes to play with my camera--you should see some of them, unreal!
Once again the crop is not working, those are BD cards on that table in the background, Christmas bags and wrap.

Peter's New Coat

Here is a picture of Peter wearing his new jacket
which was sent to him from California--
Thanks Ted & Liza
The camera programs are not all working tonight;
so the crop is not working on the program I had to use.
I like to crop them more.
Merry Christmas

Frozen up 3x in one day

We have had some water problems. The water has quit 3 times
in just over 24 hours.
I hope it will stay on tonight as Jake has gone to bed already;
Sandy is at work--so I hope we dont have to fight with it again
when he gets home.
Now Sandy has added bales to the roof of the pumphouse and put some inside,
turned up the heater at the other end of building and put in some electric heat
closer to the pipes.
The pipe must have ice hunks in it or something.

Another nice card

This nice card came a couple of days ago; this one is from Olivia in Maryland, USA.

I really like the picture on this card as well.

Many I really like but I cant picture them all on blogspot.

Woof, Woof

I wont eat up all your food, and I wont bark at night and disturb your sleep;

and somebody is going to get me for a Christmas gift.

Try to update a little bit here; Wow, it is sometime since I have been to the blogspot--we have just finished cleaning the battery case for the wireless keyboard which I decided to dig out and use today. Yuck-I had left the batteries in it, also they were the wrong type so one of them went leaking. Sandy helped me clean it with baking soda and water and we put in new batteries, not sure if this will keep it going as it is saying critically low battery power so it maybe be functionally partionally only. I must get some of the right ones.
Hope you are all having a great day.

Missions Fair Wraps Up

The Missions Fair ended today with a very good turnout, better weather, and a moving Sermon by Marnie, Student at Alberta Bible College.
Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son & Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you alway even unto the end of the world.
Amen. Matthew 28: 19,20
The sermon in a nutshell was have no other gods before me, and love your neighbour as yourself.
There was good singing, and 2 more missions were read about.
The day ended with a potluck beginning at about 1pm. in the church basement.
The polish cake, cookies and other foods were all there as well as this very special cake which Crystal Kaufman made in honour of the Missions. It was beautiful--using our new theme Embark--(a trip throughout God's Kingdom)

Here is one of the posters hung up around the church.
These were made and hung up to be there for the Missions Fair.
I enter the photos and sometimes they give me a chance to crop and sometimes they dont, and this one did not give an opportunity.

Missions Fair in progress

Here is some of the decor at the ladies luncheon along with 3 cakes. Other food was on a different table.
Today Rhoda talked to us about Peru, and we saw many pictures in 2 albums as well as large pictures.
WE also heard from Sandra Osborne, who in is involved in Alberta Bible College and on board of Directors of Graceland, Poland.

large sunflowers

The day before I came home from Victoria which would be September 22, there was a bad wind here. It blew over the large sunflowers, but these 2 are propped up.
See Jake standing between the 2 sunflowers. He is about six feet tall. I think these sunflowers would be about 9 feet in height. They are the only ones I actually planted; all the rest were volunteers.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

O Give thanks unto the Lord, for he is gracious:
for his mercy endureth forever.
Psalm 136 :1
I would really like to post more on here but time has been extremely short right now with having so much to do, a new program at work--that will be ongoing time required I think!
Vegetables to give out and store in the basement, we managed to move them down today, also the glad bulbs. Judy and Jake did this.

Victoria, BC

Holly & Judy at Red Robin in Victoria--Lynne took us here.

Unique New and Used store

Saw this wonderful building on our way back from BC, it one of few things we stopped to photograph, the fence was also covered entirely in hub caps. WE did not realize it was a new and used until I saw the photo after it was printed--believe me--we would have gone inside!

Hello Everyone,
Judy and Holly are in Victoria, beautiful weather ever since we left home; for those who don't know Holly is my sister.

Would like to email Eli and talk to her but not sure she is reading email this week,
So if Louise sees this or anyone, Sarah?
Have something we want to tell her & Dave.

Also we will email Louise and perhaps she will be reading email sometime this week.

Thanks
Judy

Crab Apple Pies

Blue Berry Pie

Blue Berries

These blueberies were given to me by a friend. I had to re-pick them to make them look like this. Later I made a pie; we ate some of it for supper. I also made another 8 crab apple pies today for the freezer.
That along with 3 others will be our winter supply; I dont think I will have time to make more than these before I leave on Wednesday for the coast.

More of the litter

Sandy holds three more of the new arrivals which are large enough they walked out of their house into the large perennial flowers that are there.

New Arrivals

Jake is holding these new arrivals; there are 9 in all. Some will have to go. Anybody need a kitty?
Most are gray or black, one or two are black with some colour.

Candle at Kate and Dave's wedding

Two of each of these candles were on the tables at Kate and Dave's wedding--about 15 people per table--maybe 20 tables, we were number 14 I think.
Anyway probably close to 300 people there.
My camera battery died after 3 pictures, but I hope to get a picture from Harriet.

That deck picture posted below was taken 2 years ago.

old deck

For anyone following our blogspot a few weeks ago and saw the new deck--this is the old one before removal!
It was rotten by the top step, and had several plywood patches on top of the deck and numerous repairs to various boards on the deck as well. Part of railings were also rotted off.

Picture below shows the first steps which were later changed; even the cat is enjoying the deck.

Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I posted anything here; I am having problems with the site.
I can not get the pictures to go from here to the blogspot.

The Deck is nearly done, the 2nd steps are now under construction. Sandy and I painted more on it last night; and he rounded corners on planks today, replaced one floor board that was not good, and painted more. I actually moved my largest planter and 2 flower pots up onto the porch and rail. I am pleased as the rail is about 1" larger than previous; my planter has a little more room for its feet.
I have visions to paint the house trim, the garage and trim at least on north and east sides, the north side of the shed and maybe the chicken house. that sounds like a lot. Not sure we can get this done; and also I would like to paint my wooden bear.

Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Deck Progress

The work is proceeding on the deck. Michelle took the picture below and she is helping Chuck--cut boards and pass him tools. Sandy is busy constructing stairs at the front of the deck.
Have to work again tonight so will be leaving here before they shut down for the night.

Will just make supper; if they get in to eat with me fine; if not, they will eat later.

Michelle and I got to town today and bought paint about the colour of this writing; later we can paint the window frames to match. We also got a brush and 2 rollers.
Watch for further progress

Here is a glimpe of Alberta blue sky, as the project gets underway.
Some of the framework is now done. Chuck started and Sandy is now home from work. Michelle is assisting by handing out nails and tools.

detour

Today's Quote

Chuck and I did just that once. When we were going to BC the train did not get there in time to connect with the ferry. We were driven to a posh Vancouver hotel complete with a revolving restaurant at the top floor. We certainly enjoyed that delayed trip.
Chuck was 17 that year. So it is a long time ago.

Solar panel scraps

Got some solar panels from Colleen Taylor who sells Regal.
Am going to put them in most rooms, I bought the longest length, then I cut off down past the sills. And this one here is in the bathroom where we had no curtain of any kind. It is hung on electrical strong wire. Held up by 2 panel nails.
The sides I put down some wallpaper trim.
That will be good until fall, then I will have to change it and turn it around and decide what to do where the wallpaper is.
This is scraps so I had to seam it across once, it is 2 pieces but taped them together a bit as well in the middle. We can see out; but no one can see in. But we can't see out at night.

Another view of the flowers Peter brought

I talked to Peter at work on Monday and asked him more about the flowers he had brought me.

As I had not seen any packaged like this and was not sure how to care for them.

He told me that they were in a vase inside that large silver container!

So I took it out of the silver thing last night and I added a glass of water to the vase. They are packed in there very tight to I had to tip the vase in order to add water without spilling any.

Put it back in the container. Today I got thinking that maybe you are supposed to take them out and just display them in the vase--that maybe the container is just for carrying them in.

Has anyone else ever seen any like this?

The lilies are quite perfumed at night, and the whole thing very beautiful so I took more pictures.

Beautiful Arrangment

I came home from work and found the most gorgeous arrangment on the kitchen table. Of course I had to photograph it right away--Peter had been by and brought this lovely floral tribute for me. I immediately phoned him to say Thank You even though it was 1 a.m. I left a message as he was out.

They are nice big blooms.

Beautiful Flowers

Finally the site has allowed a picture of Beautiful Tulips--I hope they can be published successfully to the blog.
