Legal Tourist Information Booth

Jake and I went to Legal on Wednesday, I got a picture of this building which I saw last time we went.
Today Ruth and I stopped by Co-op there to get some more of the good-priced items.

at Legal in a front yard

Jake and I went to Legal with 2003 Dodge Caravan on Wednesday. We walked around and saw this cute bear in a yard, also a cute building they use for Tourist Information.
I will post a picture of the Tourist building as well.

Starting Taxes

Well, a word of warning here for those of you unsuspecting souls who are about to start your Income Taxes! After we got an entire tax paper done, and were just sorting out the left-over stuff like labels, I discovered a small brochure type thing with new schedules in it! I had not heard about there being any schedules re-written this year. And what's more this was planned in January, 2007 so why did our all-knowing feds mail out the old schedule which go straight to bin 13 and the new revised one in the same package? At least they could have tucked it inside the tax paper so we would see it as soon as we started.
My hair dresser is out of the country on a cruise, and I still have a cold in my throat, so I am not doing much with my hair lately, so the Oilers cap is a great cover-up, lol.

Down our Road Today

Today Jake and I walked down to the road around 4 pm. I wanted to get some pictures of our gravel road as it looks in February! The grader came by 2x to get this all packed off the road.

Slow Results

On Sunday I got up at 7 a.m. as I could not sleep. Everything was fine but when Jake got up around or before 9 a.m. we were without water. So then began the process (slow) of heating snow to melt water to thaw the pipes which were frozen in the pumphouse. It took nearly 3 hours to get this done. It was extreme cold and wind outside. Sandy and I still have our colds.

The three pictures show the snow in the pan as it came in, in the pot(s) on the stove, and the bucket where we poured the hot or boiling water. We also had pots in the oven. Steps have not been taken to up the heat in the pumphouse to prevent another such diaster. It was our 2nd water calamity in 2 days a a pipe connected together with rubber hose gave way on Saturday. Thankfully I was right in the kitchen so we were right on it. But still a mess. Jake was able to repair it.

Valentine greeting

Since my scanner is not available, since the disc is misplaced, I played around a bit making an original Valentine. The colour here is washed-out--does not show the pink.
Hope to get a snow picture soon. I still got a lot of cold.

A cold and a half

Off Work not by choice but I am suffering a terrible cold, barking cough, fever and more. I slept a lot by day in my chair, used over half a box of Kleenex, --a just all around nasty two days, hope I feel better by tomorrow.
The rest of you--try to keep well.

Today remains cold, but not near as cold as -40--the roads in town were quite icy looking at 5 a.m. when we came home from work. Sunday night will be slow with most everyone laid off; we will have 4 staff only. I hope this doesn't happen too often.
