Business Today

Today was a business day; just go to town, bank a cheque, see my financial advisor regarding transfer of some funds. And fax a form to Gazette Press regarding some information they need for me.
On February 6th and February 11th I will take the vans one a time to Legal Motors, one for an oil change, the other to have the heater and fan checked and also to check the anti-freeze levels and for temperature; I need it to -40 degrees.

Open At Last

If you were watching this blog in December you would have seen a beaautifully wrapped box of Belgian chocolates. Tonight I opened them and we ate some of them, hmmm---good.
Does anyone use the ACDSee program for pictures? If so have you cropped them? I have not really used this program--until now. There is a crop tool, but after I crop I dont know how to save the image in the cropped form. Help!

Not exactly the setting I would have chosen to take a first picture in a snowstorm but I did it from the doorway. Have insurance on, just need to get registration.

Brought the newer van home

It was pretty exciting day to bring home a newer van yesterday, January 26th.
We knew a storm was coming. But still we had to wait at the Dealership for a very long
time and go over some things about the van before we were allowed to leave.
After all that we got to Tim Horton's and I found another key on the seat--but thinking it was mine I thought nothing of it and stuffed it into my pocket. After our special coffee and bagels I decided to have a look at the new keys, and found I had 4 keys with me--2 for the new van, 1 for the old van, and 1 stranger key for a 2007 blue Dodge Charger. Wow.
I will be mailing this key back to Derrick Dodge tomorrow. We did not get out today; George said they could not get our their driveway and I was to read at church today, so I phoned Norma and made arrangements to fax the piece I would read to her and she would print and take it to church for someone to read--they live right in Clyde.

Today's Quote

One of God's arrangements is that after winter there should come beautiful spring days. It happens every year and it happens in every life.

Poster to top the Mission Thermometer

Not much has been happening here the past 10 days or so, and I have been having a problem to get the camera to transfer pictures into the computer. Tonight I remembered that I had an AD SEE program which came for 9.00 once with a computer I bought. So thought I would give it a try--it did transfer the pictures and I think it will be much easier. The camera was to the point that every time I transererd one new picture, it transferred everything on the camera AGAIN.
Now to see if this will really deliver!

The picture is of the banner I have just finished for the Missions thermometer. Hopefully someone will hang it up at church tomorrow. It goes right up to the ceiling. This time I just used the same banner and pasted white paper and then new writing over top. Next year if I do it I will have to make a new banner.

Today's Quote

It takes a real storm in the average person's life to make him realize how much worrying he has done over the squalls.

Today's Quote

Fortune and love befriend the bold.

-Ovid
Masterpiece

There it is, finished:
The Sunday crossword;
how I laboured
and exulted,
probed my four-pound Webster,
played dectective,
sweated, frowned
and, proud,
laughed aloud.

Look at it:
full of erasures,
barely readable,
but complete
and correct at last.

At last
I can throw it away.

The above poem is one
of my favourites--

Bits and Pieces

Well this week I got my van back and the cost of going down a road that looked like a field when it was covered with drifts added up to $364.00
NY Resolution: Dont go down roads covered with snow that deep--not with this Dodge vehicle.
Missions meeting tonight and after that I did envelopes and letters. The support will be done soon.
I only worked one day this week as I took Monday off; it was slack at work.
And it was our anniversary--I will work Friday.

Chuck and Michelle brought flowers

On January 5th Chuck and Michelle paid us a nice visit. They came bearing a bouquet of flowers. We had another Christmas visit under the tree and exchanged gifts. Then we played 2 rounds of Upwords. Finally they took us to BP and bought us a meal.

On January 4th we got more Christmas mail including cards.

Jake is putting in screws to stabalize the table

It let me make a picture - posting today

Wanted to do a post --picture

Tonight I tried unsuccessfully a few times to post a picture of our table-repair. I cant seem to get the thing to download a picture, it does not even open so I can select. Is anyone else having a problem?
We had to fix out table today, the leg was leaning. Got it done.

Another Beautiful hand-crafted Card

What a beauty this green-coloured card is!

On New Year's Day I received 2 more beautiful hand-crafted cards; one is Cross Stitch made by a girl at Kulpahar Christian School, the other is Stampin-Up made by my niece, Sarah.

Thanks Sarah, I loved this fresh abstract-style design. Leah sent the card from India. She sends me one each year and the girls

at Kulpahar make these lovely cross-stitched cards--what a lot of work! They also sell them.
